Five hundred years ago, Osnat Barzani was born in the city of Mosul. Her father was a rabbi, and he built a yeshiva where men studied Torah. He didn't have any sons, so Osnat convinces him to teach her how to read, and she begins to study Torah. When it is time for Osnat to marry, she tells her father that she won't give up her studies, so he tells all the men who come to visit that they couldn't marry her unless they promised to allow her to continue....
